Create your own version of the cookie seen on the Hallmark movie!
Food News
When it comes to the scents and smells of the holidays, there are a couple pervasive ones that come to mind: roast turkey with a whiff of sage; peppermint wafting up from the cocoa; the sharply sweet bite of gingerbread. That’s why it was fun to see gingerbread men being made when we tuned into our favorite channel for holiday movies, the Hallmark Channel, and watched ‘Tis the Season for Love.
In this movie, the lead character, played by Sarah Lancaster, comes home to a mom who owns a bakery. One of the fun scenes involves a marathon baking session in order to fill an order for gingerbread men.
While you may not need to do dozens of batches, we still thought it would be fun to create a recipe for gingerbread men as close to those in the movie as possible. So, our Food Channel development chefs did rounds of testing (and tasting) to come up with a delicious cookie that you’ll delight in making for your own holiday celebrations! While we were thinking gingerbread, we made a couple more recipes. One of our favorites is the Gingerbread Beignet inspired by Disneyland’s CafĂ© Orleans (with a few tweaks of our own). Of course, if you can make it to Disneyland for the original, we’re huge fans!
