Heart Toast Points are one of those delicate recipes used when entertaining in the 1920s. We've made them part of our Valentine's Day series because they showed up in a 1927 copy of Delineator magazine--published at a time when store-bought bread became a thing. The recipe intrigued us with its simplicity, fun, and flavor.

You can also serve these with any jam or jelly of your choice, or add butter and cinnamon sugar for variety.

Ingredients

6 slices of bread of choice
Orange marmalade

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, press firmly into sliced bread. Depending on the size of the cutter, you should be able to get two hearts out of each slice.
Arrange on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from baking sheet immediately.
Serve with orange marmalade.
