The delicious flavors of fig and honey mix well in this holiday cookie. We added a honey flight to these, serving the cookies alongside three different flavors of honey. It's a great way to add some interactive fun to any of your holiday recipes.

Be sure to mark these cookies if you are freezing them with other batches, since they can appear to be chocolate chip cookies! Make sure there are no surprises (although they'd be delightful ones!)
Ingredients
1 cup butter
1/2 cup dried figs
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup light brown sugar
3 eggs
pinch salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons dried dates
1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Chop figs.
Mix butter, honey, figs and sugar.
Add eggs.
Add dry ingredients, saving nuts and oatmeal for last.
Drop onto cookie sheet covered with parchment paper and bake 10-12 minutes until brown.
