Kombucha: Health in a Bottle

The growing consumer demand for transparency in food labeling, and desire for healthier alternatives to sugar-laden carbonated beverages is resulting in the resurgence of one bubbly good-for-you drink trend: kombucha.

Determined to change the way we drink it, Health-Ade Kombucha was founded in 2012 by a husband, wife, and best friend who were all looking to make the best tasting & highest quality kombucha available. This small startup quickly gained popularity with local fans and consumers, leading to a successful partnership with plans for a manufacturing facility in Torrance, California. Expanding their distribution to Whole Foods, among other natural food markets in more 42 states, reflecting what they call a commitment to flavor, quality standards, and overall customer satisfaction.

The use of time-honored techniques of craft-brewing includes an all-glass process to ensure no plastic/metal leaching, small-batch fermentation and the addition of raw cold-pressed juice from organic produce. Health-Ade’s flavors are determined by commercial availability and quality of ingredients, which include fruits, vegetables and super teas, combining herbs and spices for added health benefits. The company has taken a stance of forgoing the use of fake fermentation agents, flavorings, or chemicals, and relying on nature to determine when the product is ready. All batches are Non-GMO project verified, certified organic, kosher, vegan and gluten-free.

While many businesses find that with mass expansion and rising popularity comes the need to cut corners to meet product demand, Health-Ade is determined to stick by their motto which states that one should “love your life, and follow your gut.” Set on further educating the public about the benefits of fermented beverages, what started as a small group of three friends has quickly become a brand name in the craft-brewing industry.
