When Afternoon Teas were at their peak, a "Children's Tea" was often held in the nursery with food the kids love--like these toast points made with simple ingredients. Caution: adults will love them, too! Note that there are TWO recipes here--one uses marmalade and pecans (at forefront), the other a simple mix of cinnamon and powdered sugar.

This recipe is part of our Teatime Series. "Low Tea" has been identified as a Top Ten Trend by The Food Channel, and so we put together a great afternoon tea to inspire you!

See our story and find all of our great recipes to hold your own Afternoon Tea!

TIP: Save crusts for bread pudding or stuffing--freeze if necessary in an air tight bag.

8 slices of whole wheat or white bread, crusts removed
6 T. unsalted butter, softened
6 T. marmalade
1/2 cup chopped pecans (or other nuts of choice)
