Apple season is here, and if you're planning on doing some apple picking this Fall then making apple butter is a must! I've revived this from the archives because I've been bust all week making lots of batches of this to bring to the Bronx Zoo Saturday.
For those of you in the NYC area, I'll be at The Bronx Zoo this Saturday, September 12 from 11 to 3 pm for The Harvest Festival, located at the Mouse House doing a book signing from 11 to 12pm at the bookstore, then handing out samples of this yummy slow cooker apple butter from 12 to 3pm. Hope to see some of you there!
This lasts a long time in the refrigerator, at least one month if not longer. I usually like to use a blend of sweet apples such as honey crisp, gala and ambrosia apples. What's your favorite way to use apple butter? Would love to hear your comments!
