Recipes: Pokéball Cookies with Royal Icing

Pokéball Cookies with Royal Icing

The Food Channel is happy to be a Pokéstop and celebrated by creating this cookie to share! Make it for your own gaming event as you play Pokémon Go or as you remember the 80s in style! This icing can be made for any similar occasion, so grab some sugar cookies and have a little fun.

Royal Icing can be made and used on the cookies, then stored for several days in an air-tight container without loss of flavor.

Ingredients

Sugar cookies (already prepared or store bought)
3 egg whites
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 t. vanilla extract
1 t. lemon extract
food coloring
water as needed

Preparation

Beat egg whites, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and lemon extract at high speed for about 10 minutes until it becomes glossy and forms a stiff peak.
Add food coloring as desired. If it becomes too thick while applying the icing, add ¼ t. water incrementally as needed.
Ice cookies according to your individual design.
The piping texture should replicate toothpaste, and the “flood” texture should replicate shampoo.
