A Little Auction Action

One of our favorite things to do in the Food Channel Culinary Center is to cook for others. Especially when they love food the way we do! That’s why it was fun to host four winners of an auction that benefited a national charity. They bid on, and won (for a nice donation to a great cause, we might add) the chance to sit in on a taping of our popular web series, 90 Seconds in the Kitchen and then join the chefs for lunch.

The winners soon found that 90 seconds worth of finished content in a video takes hours of prep, shooting, reshooting—and that’s before you even think about editing! They joined in as Chef Cari demonstrated how to make a delicious cobb salad with a homemade vinaigrette, then sat at our marble table for lunch with the whole crew. It was topped off by a selection of our homemade cookies with a twist—a scoop of ice cream to turn them into a summer sandwich.

For the video, check our complete series of 90 Seconds in the Kitchen.

For the Cookie recipes, follow these links:

Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies - This one is fun because you can make it different with the ingredients of your choice. Add or substitute nuts, white chocolate, dark chocolate, raisins, just about anything goes without any other adjustments needed.

Chocolate Dipped Orange Cookies - For the ice cream sandwiches we skipped the chocolate dipping . . . but you wouldn't have to!

Peanut Butter Cookies - We made these for a Valentine's series because they are the way to someone's heart, made even better with the addition of ice cream!
